Events of Economic Development

District level Consultation: 

A consultation on the Re-visit of Rules and Regulations (Bye-laws) of SANGAMAM was held at TSSS office on 06th February 2009. Representatives from all Blocks (18 blocks) and the office bearers of SANGAMAM participated in the consultation very actively and contributed a lot to revitalize the structure and functional mechanism. The staff of TSSS too attended the consultation, which was facilitated by Rev.Fr.A.Joseph Kennedy, Executive Director of TSSS and the Programme Coordinator, Mr.Ganesan. 30 participants attended the consultation and suggested review of policies and principles. 

Following resolutions had been passed: 

         
  • The minimum amount of monthly savings by a member is Rs.20
  • The maximum ceiling for loan disbursement to an individual member is Rs.10000
  • An individual member is eligible to get four fold of his/her savings as a loan.
  • Those who have a saving of Rs.3000/- and more is eligible to get loan up to Rs.15000/
  • The installments for repayment of loan cannot exceed 20 months. 
  • All new groups become eligible to receive loans only after 6 months.
